The hallmark of this line is the Gibson Player Port™, an idea originally found in Gibson blueprints from the 1960s but only recently brought to mass production. It is a second soundhole located on the upper bout of the guitar's side. It allows the player to hear the guitar exactly as the audience hears it, providing an immersive sonic experience. Unlike many \"budget-friendly\" lines from other brands, the G-Bird is handcrafted in the same Bozeman, Montana facility as Gibson’s high-end Custom Shop acoustics.
