It shared the same dimensions and construction as its predecessors, specifically designed as a grand concert flat-top guitar to be more compact and easier to hold than larger jumbo models. It was intended to bridge the gap between student-level and mid-level players by providing a slightly more \"midrangey\" version of the iconic J-45 sound. The guitar for sale here features an upper-belly style bridge, which was gradually rolled out that year. It also features the narrow neck profile (1 9\/16\" nut width, approx. 40mm) common to late-1960s Gibsons. During the height of the folk boom in the mid-1960s, the B series was so popular that in 1965 alone, Gibson built nearly 6,000 B-25 models — more than the popular J-45.
