This \"Banner\" reissue specifically pays tribute to the World War II era (1942–1945), distinguished by the golden banner on the headstock that famously states: \"Only a Gibson is Good Enough”. The top is made of Adirondack Red Spruce that has been \"baked\" (torrefied) to mimic the cellular structure and dried-out response of a 1940s vintage instrument. To maintain historical accuracy, Gibson also uses hot hide glue for the top bracing and neck joint, which provides a more efficient energy transfer than modern synthetic glues.
